Know-how / Specialty
This platform, created in 2017 by the initiative of Chinese-American fashion designer Angel Chang, brings together the know-how of more than 200 artisans distributed across about twenty villages in the rural province of Guizhou, in southwestern China. Amongst the many practitioners of traditional textile techniques dating back more than 2000 years, artisans from the indigenous Miao and Dong tribes weave indigo-dyed cotton pieces.
In partnership with the Global Heritage Fund and local eco-museums, Village Embassy works to enhance the value of an intangible heritage by making these works available to the international design market.
